Finding Your Way Forward with Therapy

You may feel like the life you desire is just out of reach, as if the past continues to shape your present. Chronic depression, anxiety, or a persistent sense of being stuck can make everyday life feel overwhelming. Maybe you find yourself asking, “Why do I feel this way?” or “Will things ever change?” Or perhaps your greatest challenges show up in your relationships—marked by frequent conflict, loneliness, or a growing sense of disconnection from your partner.

If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone. Therapy can help.

In my practice, I work with both individuals and couples to create new possibilities for resilience, connection, and emotional well-being. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that hold you back, understand the emotions beneath the surface, and discover pathways toward a life that feels truer to your potential and more fulfilling.

You don’t have to figure it out on your own. I’m here to support you—wherever you’re at.

Good psychotherapy is more than just a tool for coping—it can be transformational. But how?

Therapy is a pathway to discovering new ways of being in the world. Through therapy, we learn to understand our emotions more deeply, connect with parts of ourselves we may have disconnected from, and build healthier, more authentic relationships. When we create space for reflection, we open the door to personal growth in ways we may have never thought possible.

The benefits of therapy often reach beyond the individual. As we grow in self-awareness, emotional resilience, and relational skills, the positive effects ripple out to our loved ones, friends, and colleagues. Therapy helps us work, live, and love in ways that feel more connected, intentional, and fulfilling.

At its heart, therapy is about reclaiming a life with more depth of feeling and a greater sense of vitality. If you’re here, considering this journey, I commend your courage and commitment to yourself. This is the first step toward meaningful change—and you don’t have to take it alone.

I specialize in both individual and couples work. I work in person, online, and by phone.

Individual therapy: Typically I meet with individuals once or twice weekly for 60-minute sessions during which we discuss whatever you, the client, bring in to address. Through reflective conversation we work toward increasing your sense of authentic living, a life lived with more purpose and choice. As a psychodynamic therapist, I focus on medium-to-long-term therapy with individuals, carried out with empathy, compassion, and deep listening. In a safe and confidential setting, we work at a pace you determine. Individual therapy rates: $150/session.

Couples therapy: In the words of poet John Donne, “No man is an island.” Connected, close relationships and strong bonds are essential to our lives. If you and your partner find yourselves caught in patterns of distress and conflict, couples therapy can be a powerful resource for creating a more secure emotional connection. Sessions are 60 minutes long. Couples therapy rates: $180/session.

My formal education and training includes a Master of Arts degree and graduate studies in the history and theory of psychoanalysis, followed by rigorous academic and experiential training at the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy (CTP). Currently I hold a faculty position at CTP.

My couples therapy training follows the modality known as Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, founded by Sue Johnson.

Finally, I also draw on personal experience of having deeply benefitted from therapeutic work. It enables me to listen to clients from a place of empathy with what it’s like to live with struggle—while also having known the rewards of increased openness and vitality, based on finding therapy to be an agent of change in my life.
