Sometimes the hardest thing to do is walk through the door, so I am hopeful that these new virtual times and online therapy give you an easier option in making that first step.

Psychotherapy offers you the ability to discuss the topics that matter most, the ones that deeply affect us, topics that are not always easy to discuss. In our psychotherapeutic work together, I will give you the space and help to untangle and find ways to “archive” what bothers you most. Memories never disappear, but how we store and process them matters.

All parts of your inner self will be offered understanding as we put the pieces back together.

Therapy can invite us to inhabit vulnerable states. Because of this we will start with an initial consultation that is meant to allow you to feel out the connection between yourself and me, and to be able to feel what therapy essentially will feel like for you. Over time, you are going to tell me a story, your story. As you do it is my job to collect and hold pieces of your story and connect dots for and with you. Your story is yours and you will tell me about it. Past, present, and future, whatever it is you wish to bring to that particular session, will be allowed both space and time.

I started university with the full intention of becoming a lawyer. Several political science courses and one tiny elective called Abnormal Psychology changed this designated path for a lifetime.

A few years after discovering this passion for mental health, I headed north to the James Bay Coast, travelling to remote communities. I worked closely with youth; speaking with them about eating disorders, sexual abuse, and suicide. It was during this time that a group of teens decided to tell me I needed to help traumatized people for living. A fire ignited in me and I returned to school for an additional 8 years of training as a psychotherapist.

I have been a psychotherapist in private practice for 10 years, and I have worked with individuals challenged by eating disorders and trauma for 21 years. All our experiences allow us to understand each other; in particular in pain and joy. I offer you my understanding as you experience and process one, to get to the other.
